Full Sun (6+ Hours Direct Sunlight) Mature Height 4-8 Inches Mature Width 8-16 Inches Use as a Spiller in Containers Growing Zones 9 - 11 Blue My Mind® Dwarf Morning Glory (Evolvulus hybrid) has true blue flowers and fuzzy, silver-green foliage. It is very heat tolerant once established. The dwarf morning glory is long blooming, from spring to frost. It does not need to be deadheaded. The flowers are open early in the morning and close in the afternoon or in cloudy weather. The dwarf morning glory is used as a ground cover, edging plant, or mass planting. It can also be grown in a container as the spiller. It is native to Brazil so does well in the heat of the southern United States. It is also drought tolerant once established. Blue My Mind® Dwarf Morning Glory Care Although the dwarf morning glory will grow in average soil, it does best with an application of compost or a slow-release fertilizer when planted. It does not need deadheading. The young plant needs an average amount of water. The adult plant is drought tolerant after it is established but will look better and flower more if watered regularly. The plant needs to be planted in full sun to thrive. The dwarf morning glory blooms from spring to the end of summer. It needs to be protected from even the lightest of frosts, so you will need to cover it with mulch when one is coming. Remove the mulch after the frost. The plant is a perennial but is treated as an annual in most of the United States. This plant is listed as rarely getting eaten by deer, which makes it deer resistant. No plant is truly deer proof, because they will eat about anything when hungry enough. But these plants are not eaten very often, and deer would prefer other plants over morning glory. Blue My Mind® Dwarf Morning Glory Spacing At 4-8 inches tall, with a spread of 8-16 inches, it is a short, fat plant. Because it is fat, it needs to be spaced 8-12 inches from other plants or it may grow over them.
